Orange Day!
Orange day is a great way for schools,
nurseries and organisations to support Kiya. All kids/staff are asked
to wear a Kiya Orange T-shirt for the day (all proceeds from the T-shirts
go directly to Kiya Survivors) and just before home time, Kiya reps
and Paddington bear come in to show a video and talk to staff, kids
and parents about the projects and work we do in Peru. Our first ever
Orange Day was at Hopscotch Nursery.
If you would like to put on an Orange
Day at your school, nursery or organisation, please contact o:

HOPSCOTCH NURSERY:
HOPSCOTCH
NURSERY SUPPORT ORANGE DAY!
Staff and kids at Hopscotch Nursery
in Hove, Brighton, went Orange
for the day to help Kiya Survivors,
UK registered charity (1121519), working in Peru providing vital support
to special needs, abused and abandoned children, raise much needed funds
for a new orphanage due to open in March 2008.
Why?
Bruno Butler, one of the Portland
roads Hopscotch kids is heading to Peru in February with his Mum, Suzy
Butler, Founder and Managing Director of Kiya Survivors, to help build
the new orphanage, Mama Cocha, which will house 16 children. The children
all have special needs, are living in severe poverty and are currently
suffering from severe abuse and neglect. There are no other children’s
homes in the area who will take in these kids as they have such unique
needs: therapy, medication, counselling etc.
Kiya is desperate for funding to ensure that we can offer these kids
a safe and loving, long term home environment.
This will be Kiya Survivors
forth project and all the money raised from Orange
Day will go directly towards the building and maintenance
costs of Mama Cocha.
What was the Aim?
For all the kids to wear an orange
Kiya T-Shirt to show their support of this vital project and to send
Bruno off in style with an orange food feast hosted by Peru’s
most famous bear, Paddington!
Two Kiya representatives came in for
the orange food feast between 3.30pm and 5.30pm to answer questions
and provide more information on the charity and projects.
