Climb Mount Kilimanjaro with Kiya Survivors
Latest news - we are now seeking volunteers to take part in our 2015 climb of Mount Kilimanjaro - for further information please fill in the form below
In 2013, after a year in the planning we took a team of 5 climbers to Tanzania for a 2 week trip they will never forget!
We would like to thank Jennie Tindall, Laura McKelvie, Jason Symonds, Matt Hopkins and Diane Evans for all their hard work, determination and fundraising success. Along with Bec Hopkins they raised £7,600 for Kiya Survivors and our new project in The Plaster House in Tanzania. The Plaster House is a children’s rehabilitation centre offering post-operative care and support for children with physical disabilities.
The money will not only fund our Outreach Programme in Peru but also the new “Recovery Through Learning” programme that we have set up in Tanzania.
We are employing a local teacher to implement a stimulating educational timetable for the children who are recovering in the Plaster House and setting up Mother and Baby workshops for the mamas who stay with their recovering babies.
We will also be following up with approximately 10 of the children who come to the Plaster House with a Post Outreach Programme to make sure that their needs are being met when they return to their families.
